Use this
compote for “Apple Pork Chops”, as a filling for crepes or pies, as a topping
for ice cream, or for apple cobbler. Add
a few craisins to make a colorful “side dish” for ham. Yumm!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups dehydrated apples
- 3 cups water
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 2 Tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
Directions:
- Combine apples with 3 cups water in saucepan on stove.
- Add the sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon and bring to boil.
- In small bowl, stir the cornstarch into ¼ cup water. Add this mixture into the apple mixture and return to boiling.
- Stir in lemon juice (and craisins if desired.)
