Easy Apple Crisp

Apple filling Ingredients:
  • 1/2 #10 can of dehydrated apples
  • 1-2 tsp cinnamon (or more depending on preference)
  • 1/4 c water

Topping Ingredients:
  • 1 C oats (regular or quick)
  • 3/4 C brown sugar
  • 1/3 C flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4-1 stick butter, melted (or a combo of butter/coconut oil)
  • 1/2 C chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
  1. Place the dehydrated apples in an 8 or 9 inch square pan and cover with hot water. Let stand for at least 1 hour and drain. The longer you let them rehydrate the better.
  2. Mix the rehydrated apples with cinnamon and water directly in the baking dish.
  3. Mix all the dry ingredients, and then mix the melted butter in well. Pour evenly over apples.
  4. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender.

Note:  This amount of topping is for an 8 inch square pan. I usually double it for my large pyrex pan (9 X 13) and then use approx. 3/4 of the #10 can of apples. Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender.
